According to Ingram Micro’s global Advanced Solutions organization, adoption of opensource solutions is rising in APAC and gaining traction worldwide with IT leaders and the channel partners who support them. By teaming with Ingram Micro and leveraging its Opensource CoE, these channel partners are better able to identify opportunity, engage with their customers and solve for infrastructure modernization, application development and digital transformation.
“The move to remote working forced many organizations to accelerate their digital operations plans and innovation cycles to meet customer demands at the speed of need,” notes Sabine Howest, senior vice president, digital operations and global partner engagement, Ingram Micro. “The opensource community is making rapid advancements in setting technology trends and addressing problems that are too massive for one organization to solve. Opensource brings upon endless possibilities through collaboration and transparency while maintaining flexibility and accessibility to innovations.”
The opening of Ingram Micro’s Opensource CoE in APAC is a first for the business leader and represents a continued investment in partner enablement around emerging technologies and advanced solutions and services.
“We aim to be constantly in the forefront of technology, identifying trends and strategically investing in resources that brings value-add to our partners and vendors,” adds Diego Utge, executive vice president, global group president, APAC, Ingram Micro. “Together with the success of the cybersecurity CoE, launched in 2020, and our Technology Experience Center in 2021, Ingram Micro’s new Opensource CoE will result in even stronger engagement with our partners in this world of digital transformation.”
Ingram Micro launched Technology Experience Center (TEC) for Asia Pacific in 2021, housing integrated end-to-end multi-vendor products and solutions, and is a unique platform for product demos, proof of concept, proof of value, executive briefing, and partner enablement. As part of the go-to-market strategies, opensource solutions surrounding IT automation and Kubernetes containerization are added to TEC to support proof-of-concept testing environments for partners and their customers. Red Hat Ansible automation solution is currently one of the solutions integrated and showcased across Asia Pacific region.
‘Ingram Micro prioritizes our partners’ success and understands their business gaps, especially in this challenging time,” shares Francis Choo, vice president, Global Partner Engagement and Cybersecurity, APAC, Ingram Micro. “This is a core reason why we’ve invested in our Cybersecurity CoE, our TEC, and now our Opensource CoE. Ingram Micro simplifies the complex and is constantly creating more value for our channel partners around new and established solutions designed to help solve for the security and collaboration needs of today’s work from anywhere workforce.”
